From vines first planted in 1972 to our small-batch releases today, Burnt Acre is built on heritage, passion, and patience.
At Burnt Acre, we remain intentionally small. Each vintage is crafted in limited quantities, giving us the freedom to focus on character, patience, and uncompromising quality. The result is wine that feels personal, distinctive, and worth savouring.
We hand-plunge our ferments, basket-press our reds, and mature our wines slowly in quality oak. These methods are labour-intensive but ensure elegance, structure, and longevity in every release.
Our Wines
From our flagship Shiraz to The Embers blend and evolving new releases, Burnt Acre wines are small-batch, hand-made, and designed to reward both now and in the years to come with depth, texture, and a long, rewarding finish.

HOW WE CRAFT OUR
Exclusive small-batch wines.
Select.
From 50-year-old Shiraz vines and carefully tended blocks, we harvest small parcels of fruit — chosen for balance, flavour, and character.
Craft.
Each batch is hand-plunged, basket-pressed, and matured in quality oak. Traditional methods that demand patience, and reward with depth and structure.
Release.
Our wines are crafted in small quantities, with 50-year-old Shiraz vines forming the foundation for our blends and Sparkling Shiraz. Each release is typically held back for two years of bottle age, ensuring the wines are ready to enjoy upon release, yet with the structure to reward further cellaring.
Where to Find Our Wine
Alongside direct orders, you’ll find Burnt Acre wines at select restaurants, bottle shops, and venues across the region — places that share our commitment to quality.
From the Vineyard
Stories, seasonal updates, and event news — keeping you connected to the vines, the craft and the people behind Burnt Acre.
...from our patch of 25 year old vines at Merricks North on the Mornington Peninsula. A modern barrel-fermented Chardonnay with citrus and white nectarine characters, a long clean acid finish, layered complexity and subtle oak influence.
